PCI Modeler

This section deals with question specific to Modeler or the Algorithm librarian from Focus.  We also recommend you check our Modeler Exchange web page as we have a number of useful models ready for download.

How can I set up and run batch processes in PCI?

Can I customize the Module Librarian in PCI Modeler?

Q: How can I set up and run batch processes in PCI Modeler?

A) The batching capabilities of PCI Modeler enables import files, export files, and parameter variations through multiple runs of a model making modeler a much more powerful visual scripting environment. The following are steps to set up your batch processing

1) Start Modeler and create a model or load an existing model with the required modules (e.g. c:\geomatica_v100\model\reproj.mod)
2) For each module (e.g. IMPORT, REPROJ, and EXPORT), a “Batch” option is available at the bottom right of the module control panel. Select this button to begin setting up your batch processing parameters
3.) Click the add button (+) to add a second run to your model. For this second run, specify the input parameter set values. To add another run repeat
4.) To adjust or modify the input parameters for each data set you can select the data set under the “Batch Parameter Sets” section and then adjust the input parameters as required
5.) To run you file in batch mode you need select “Execute –-> Run Batch” rather than only selecting the run button

Can I customize the Module Librarian in PCI Modeler?

A) Many users find they are continuously using the same algorithms in their models and don’t like sorting through the many algorithms in the module librarian. PCI Modeler allows you to create custom module categories to easily access your most frequently used algorithms

1.) Open Module Librarian
2.) Right-click on User Defined and create a new category
3.) Rename new category
4.) Select the desired algorithms and add them to your category
