Geomatica® WebServer

Geomatica WebServer is the new technology from PCI Geomatics for displaying  geospatial information over the Internet and Intranet.  Publishing your projects over the Web has never been simpler.  Geomatica WebServer includes templates and examples of everything you need to create your own Web page.  Build a project in Geomatica, create your Web page, and then let Geomatica WebServer do the rest.

Geomatica WebServer is built on Geomatica and consists of the following three major components:

  • Geomatica's visual environment for working with a variety of data, including imagery, vectors, and graphical bitmaps. It runs on the server.

  • A JAVA Applet (approximately 100K bytes) which downloads automatically into the users Web browser and allows the user to roam/zoom/pan and interact with the Webserver. It is not a plug-in and is automatically removed from the Web browser when the user leaves the Web page.

  • A JAVA Servlet which runs on the server and co-ordinates activity between the Applet and the Webserver. This is transparent to the user and a standard component in any Web server product

Geomatica WebServer is available on Windows 2000, NT and XP.

Prerequisites

Geomatica WebServer requires either Geomatica Fundamentals , Geomatica Prime or access to already created projects.
