PCI Geomatics awarded contract to create accurate SPOT satellite images for the landmass of Canada

Richmond Hill, Ontario – August 21, 2006: PCI Geomatics® has been awarded a contract from Iunctus Geomatics to produce accurate satellite images covering all of Canada, south of 80° North latitude. The five-year contract, which involves both the delivery of software and production services, is part of Natural Resource Canada’s (NRCan)$2.4 million award to Iunctus Geomatics and TELUS Corporation for the creation of new, high-quality images of Canada from SPOT 4 and 5 satellite data.

Natural Resources Canada will distribute the new, high-resolution images of Canada through the GeoBase initiative, a Web portal that allows government and individual users to access high-quality geospatial information.
