PCI Geomatics® Releases Geomatica® 9 Version 9.1

Richmond Hill, Ontario - January 27, 2003: PCI Geomatics has completed and is now shipping the newest update of Geomatica to customers around the globe. Geomatica 9 Version 9.1, the company's newest edition of its landmark geospatial software solution, improves on a solid performance reputation for remote sensing, photogrammetry, GIS, and cartography established by its predecessor.

Additions found in the latest Geomatica build upon the software's remote sensing processing, GIS capabilities, hyperspectral tools, and user productivity practices. Improvements to Geomatica 9 Version 9.1 include processing performance enhancements, stronger spatial overlay capabilities, additions to the on-line help, and for the Geomatica 9 Software Development Kit, several new applications, new interfaces, and added documentation. Rigorous photogrammetry model support is also included for the Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) and the MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) sensors aboard Envisat.

"I am proud to say that customers that choose PCI Geomatics software solutions become more productive with each new update and with every new release we send them," states Dr Robert Moses, President and CEO of PCI Geomatics. "New Geomatica training opportunities, support assistance, and software update service opportunities are also available to help users succeed with their work."

A completely integrated solution, Geomatica 9 Version 9.1 provides superior geomatics capabilities and productivity enhancing features within a seamless "all-in-one" environment. Easy movement of spatial information between highly integrated applications is a key part of the PCI Geomatics design philosophy, as is meeting the widest possible range of dynamic processing requirements - and all within a single geospatial solution. Advanced remote sensing capabilities share data with spatial analysis, photogrammetry, and cartographic processing tools in order to perform these functions without needing to move to other programs, starting with raw image data and ending with information output.

"The innovative design of Geomatica allows our development team to carry forward with improvements at a remarkable pace, sustaining greater value for our support and update customers," states David Stanley, Vice President of Research and Development for PCI Geomatics. "Our process lets us work productively on Geomatica so users can work productively with Geomatica."

New GIS resources, introduced in Geomatica 9 and improved in Version 9.1, provide advanced functions that broaden remote sensing opportunities while meeting the most demanding spatial analysis requirements. Similarly, customers introduced to the newest technology for processing hyperspectral data in Geomatica 9 will notice several key improvements. Advanced atmospheric correction algorithms, cartography features, and pan-sharpening capabilities give PCI Geomatics' Geomatica a "must-see" distinction. Programmable scripting environments, batch processing features, automation tools, and interoperability designs greatly extend Geomatica 9 Version 9.1 user options and opportunities.
