PCI Geomatics Passes All Space Imaging Tests to
Certify Geomatica® 9

Richmond Hill, Ontario – June 30, 2003: PCI Geomatics® is pleased to announce that the company’s newest geospatial software release, Geomatica 9, has passed all tests performed by Space Imaging™ to receive full certification for RPC Block Adjustment. Geomatica 9 OrthoEngine components allow support of tie point and block bundle adjustment for Space Imaging’s IKONOS images using RPC Block Adjustment models and the PCI Geomatics Rigorous model.

Space Imaging certification requirements included the ability to load, display, read coordinates and orthorectify IKONOS stereo models, and the ability to block adjust IKONOS stereo models with or without ground control. Tests performed included image coordinate measurements, orthorectification with a DEM, and various block adjustments of two stereo pair using varying degrees of ground control. Space Imaging’s acceptance criteria compared results between the Space Imaging ground station and the software under test, Geomatica 9. To make allowance for the operator’s ability to read points within an image, an agreement within ±1 pixel is generally acceptable. The results were that PCI Geomatics’ Geomatica 9 passed all tests.

In certifying PCI Geomatics’ Geomatica 9 RPC block adjustment technology, Space Imaging has taken the first steps to providing a template for successful testing of other photogrammetric software implementations of the Space Imaging RPC Block Adjust technique.
