Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) |
 |
CWID is an annual event which enables commanders and the international community to investigate command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance C4ISR solutions which focus on relevant and timely objectives for enhancing coalition interoperability.
CWID investigates leading-edge information technologies that will integrate into an operational environment through Interoperability Trials.
In June 2007, PCI Geomatics demonstrated a subset of our technology which showcased the ability to perform automatic image correction for a wide variety of spatial sensors, image mosaics and maps-on-demand via OGC services and Oracle 10g database. Each information trial at CWID receives an assessment and the results are documented in a final report to be published in the fall.

PCI Geomatics Recognizes Educational Excellence |
 |
PCI actively supports the geospatial community and plays a vital role in acknowledging educational excellence. This spring, we presented monetary awards and certificates to top students from Carleton University and NSCC Centre of Geographic Sciences.
PCI is also pleased to assist the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) which funds research infrastructure helping Canadian universities and colleges carry out technology development. This is a great opportunity for PCI to give back to the community.
Are you part of an educational institute? If so, your Geography, Geology or Engineering departments could benefit from using Geomatica. With our site license package agreement, you can enjoy the flexibility of using Geomatica on your campus for 3 years, while sharing the costs across multiple departments at your school. Licenses can be used for both research or teaching purposes, and fees include all technical support and software upgrades.
For more information on site licenses and for further details, contact Account Executive Mimay Mallillin.

Practical Radar Polarimetry Theory & Applications |
 |
In April, PCI Geomatics hosted a successful workshop at our Richmond Hill office entitled, "Practical Radar Polarimetry Theory and Applications Workshop". This event, in cooperation with MDA Geospatial Services, CCRS and sponsored by the Canadian Space Agency is back by popular demand!
We hope you can join us at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario on August 28 & 29, 2007.
The objective of the workshop is to provide a point-of-entry for the user who is familiar with single channel radar data and applications, but is interested in polarimetric radar theory, analysis, and applications. This interactive workshop will integrate theory with hands-on computer based demonstrations.

Tips and Tricks |
 |
by Craig Alleva, Technical Support Specialist
Sometimes it becomes necessary to load a new license file to your floating license server. This situation may arise when you have added additional modules/packages to your floating license server, and need to update the server with the new license file. In order to perform this task, you must utilize the DOS command prompt to unload the current license file, and then load the new license file.
To unload your license file from the license server, you must open a command prompt and navigate to the following:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT
Then type the following command:
lslic -removeall
To load your new license file to the license server, ensure that you have renamed your new license file to License.PCI.
Then place this license file in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT
Then type the following command in the command prompt (ensure that you navigate to the same directory): lslic - F License.PCI
You have now successfully unloaded an old license file and loaded a new license file.
