Geomatica Image Management System (GIMS)

The Geomatica Image Management System (GIMS) helps you store and manage image data either within your enterprise GIS or as an add-on system within your current enterprise. GIMS leverages the geospatial handling capabilities of Oracle and Oracle Spatial or can be added into any enterprise through an open source database such as PostGRES.

Using Oracle 10g and 11g and the new GeoRaster data type, you can now access imagery using SQL in the same way as text and vector data.

It’s easy to find your imagery as GIMS stores all your geospatial data in a single location—no more searching through file systems or CDs to discover the right image.

As GIMS core system includes utilities for loading data into the Oracle 10g or 11g database, including image data and any associated metadata, you can add system components when you need them:

• A web interface using eSpatial iSMART technology.
• PCI Geomatica software as a thick client.
• Third-party software that can access the Oracle georaster data type.
