• The Geomatica Mapping Center accesses recent satellite images of Canada as available from Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN), automatically corrects them to the highest accuracy possible, combines them on-the-fly with digital topographic data for Canada and then delivers them in digital maps over the Internet in a standard format.
• The Agriculture GeoCapacity Network (AGCN) is a project initiative between the government of Canada, PCI Geomatics and the State of Punjab, India. The project helps the Indian government and stakeholders in the agriculture sector improve their decision-making processes by automatically generating crop forecasting information based on satellite imagery.
• Automatic Ingest Mosaic Mapping System (AIMM) is a cost-effective and efficient system for assembling data and imagery into map mosaics to help facilitate decision-making in critical situations.
• The Geomatica Image Management System (GIMS) enables organizations to effectively manage and access geospatial and imagery data. GIMS is a robust, enterprise-wide solution designed to handle the storage, processing, and access of all geospatial data types including aerial photos, satellite images, scanned maps, metadata tables, basic text, and more.

Geomatica Mapping Center

What does the Mapping Center do?

• Delivers custom images and topographic maps on demand via the web or email.
• Manages and monitors all incoming job requests, including logging and invoicing.
• Automatically orthocorrects, pansharpens and loads imagery into a spatial database.

Once the data and metadata are loaded into the Oracle Spatial 10g or 11g database, PCI technology automatically performs preprocessing tasks on the raw images. These are then stored to the same database.

When a request is submitted to the Mapping Center, it can retrieve the preloaded image from the database. It will automatically generate a complete map and deliver it to the client—in minutes. Later, you can share the processed image on the web via iSmart technology.

Agriculture GeoCapacity Network (AGCN)

PCI Geomatics provides geo-imaging solutions geared to the agriculture sector. PCI bases its solutions on automated geo-imaging data processing technology that leverage a central data repository that in turn is used to generate agricultural information products, such as crop forecasts.

AGCN illustrates how information on crop yields and trend analysis can be automatically generated and delivered to government officials and the general public via a web browser. To assist in agricultural productivity, AGCN takes complex, satellite and geospatial data and transforms it into easily interpreted, deliverable information pertaining to crop, soil, irrigation, pollution and socio-economic factors.

Solutions for Military and Public Security

PCI Geomatics provides geospatial solutions geared to the military and public security community.

With AIMM, you can easily load raw or corrected images into the database through a web interface and automatically generate mosaics. This automated production system can:

• ingest a wide variety of satellite imagery
• automatically determine its type
• correct it (remove distortions)
• insert it into an Oracle 10g or 11g database.

You can also find imagery pertaining to your area of interest by location, acquisition date, keyword, or sensor type. You can send a request for the images, mosaic, or maps of the area to be delivered in formats such as PIX, NITF, GeoTIFF, PDF or JPEG. The system then automatically responds by sending the requested imagery by FTP or email to the intended recipient.
