Dear Uday,
The image is likely 16-bit. For
visual applications it is easier to work with 8-bit. There is some ‘how-to’
information here:

Note that the FAQ link above does not
discuss manual editing of historgrams. For this, I would recommend
scaling to 8-bit, open the new file in Focus, right-click, enhance, edit the
various LUTs (red, green blue) and select ‘Save Image with LUT’.
