INTERMEDIATE SCIENTIST SPECIALIZING IN SYNTHETIC APERTURE RADAR DATA PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS

SCOPE OF POSITION:

  • Assumes the responsibilities of a Level 1 scientist as required and works independently once requirements are provided
  • Applies scientific domain knowledge to the analysis of software outputs
  • Answers questions for company personnel that are within areas of his or her scientific expertise
  • Presents descriptions of research and development activities and results to both company and external (e.g., conference) audiences
  • Contributes to preparation of technical portions of project proposals and reports

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline and at least 1 year of related co-op or post-graduate work experience
  • Detailed knowledge of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data processing and analysis techniques, including those for polarimetric SAR data, and of data products from airborne and satellite-borne SAR sensors
  • Thorough knowledge of object-oriented software design and C++ programming
  • Thorough command of spoken and written English
  • Effective in, and enjoys working in, teams

ASSETS:

  • Graduate-level research experience in SAR data processing and analysis
  • Experience in a commercial software development environment
