Maps generated by MAPTHM use 1 to 49 predefined patterns to represent image grey levels. This is especially useful when the image grey levels in a channel represents classes or themes rather than grey level intensities. Data of this sort is typically the result of classification or a GIS application.
Output from MAPTHM is a map stored in a single bitmap segment in a separate PCIDSK file. A hardcopy (printed) form of the map is obtained by running a second program which directs its output to one of the supported black and white printers, such as the HP LaserJet.
Please also refer to the 'Using PCI Software' manual for background and application information on generating and printing maps.
Progress of this program can be monitored. See MONITOR section.
Note: Unlike other mapping programs, MAPTHM cannot create colour maps.
