MAPIMA -- Map Imagery

Uses image data stored in a channel on a PCIDSK file to create/overlay a black and white or colour 'image' map. Dithering techniques are used to represent the grey levels or colours of the input imagery.

Output from MAPIMA is a map stored in bitmap segments in a separate PCIDSK file. A hardcopy (printed) form of the map is obtained by running a second program which directs its output to one of the supported printers, such as the HP LaserJet for black and white maps, or the Tektronix Phaser II for colour maps.

Please also reference the Using PCI Software manual for background and application information on generating and printing maps.

Progress of this program can be monitored. See MONITOR section.
