DOQ (USGS Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle)

USGS digital orthophotos are supported by the GeoGateway library for read only. Digital orthophotos with embedded DEM information are not supported. Two formats of the DOQ format are supported. The traditional unlabelled header format, in use before 1997, and the new keyworded header distributed on, and after the summer of 1997.

Projection information (always UTM) is extracted from DOQ files.

All the header fields of the new keyworded DOQ format is extracted as metadata attached to each of the image channels. All this metadata is prefixed with ``DOQ_''.

Existing DOQ files can be written to, but new files cannot be created. The PACE program LINK may also be used to access DOQ image data.
