Due to the nature of CEOS, the file naming is not consistent across products. The translator attempts to locate the proper files for reading. The image file normally has the ".img" extension except in the case of RADARSAT data which uses the "dat_01.001" name for the image file.
Since CEOS can contain complex data, this data is represented in GDB as two separate channels.
As well, the CEOS translator will gather projection and orbital information from the CEOS ancillary data contained in the header portions of the CEOS files.
