Chip Database Panel
The Chip Database panel is used to collect GCPs from chips in an image
chip database. After you have selected your uncorrected image,
georeferencing units, and chip database, collect your GCPs. It is at
this point that the Chip Database panel is launched.
The Chip Database panel contains 3 sections. The Search area provides
different ways of finding different chips. The Image area shows the
chip image, and allows you to enhance it. The Chip area provides
detailed information on the chip image.
Finding a Chip Image
There are 2 ways of finding an image chip.
- Using the Search Utility: The ``Search Criteria'' button launches
a window which allows you to search the Chip Database for a specific
image chip. You can specify many search criteria, including a specific
sensor, a range of acquisition dates, or the corner coordinates.
- Using the VCR-style buttons: These buttons allow you to pass through
the list of image chips.

Viewing an Image Chip
The image area of the Chip Database panel allows you to view and enhance
the image chip. It is recommended that you use the "Colours" option
to set different colours for your Chip Cursor and your Chip GCP. The
``Imagery'', ``Enhance'', and ``Zoom'' selections allow you to change
the look of the image, to help you collect a better GCP.
To change the GCP location in the image chip, click on
``Cursor Position is GCP''. The Chip Database file must be writable
in order to change a chip GCP location.
Chip Information
The Chip section of the Chip Database panel provides detailed information
on the currently selected chip.
The ``More Info'' button launches a panel that provides detailed header
and selected chip information. You can also view the distribution of
chips and GCPs, using the ``Show Chip Distribution...'' button.
