Session Selection
The ``Session Selection'' panel always appears first when starting any
classification task, with the exception of Class Labelling, Class Editing
and Aggregate.
The rest of the classification tasks must have a session loaded before
they will start. Class Editing and the Aggregate panel will honour any
session information if present, but can work equally well without it.
The ``Session Selection'' panel contains a scrolled list of previously
saved classification sessions.
Each row in the list consists of three different items. The first is
a number indicating the channel in which the data is stored. The second
item indicates what the channel is used for. This item can either be
a Training Channel or Classification Result. The third item is a user
entered description of the session. This description is entered using the
Session Configuration panel.
In addition to the list describing the sessions, there are
five action buttons:
- Accept: This button will use information associated with the selected
channel to
define class names, class descriptors, class colours, and input channels.
Accept is disabled if there are no sessions saved on the current file.
- New Session: This button will start a completely new session (ignore
existing sessions).
- Cancel: This button cancels the classification setup.
- File ...: Selecting this button will open ``Database File Selection''
panel to select new file.
- Help: This button will provide help information on this panel.
The sessions are stored on the database file as metadata associated with
either the Training Channel or Classification Result Channel. A description
of the metadata tags is described in the Session MetaData Format topic.
