Classify
This panel is invoked via the Classify entry in the Classify menu. It
is used to control algorithm selection and actually performs the
classification to disk.
There are two main sections to this panel. First, on the top half of
the panel, is the algorithm
selection section which allows you to choose among the available supervised
and unsupervised algorithms. Below this is the second section that
provides a list of options for controlling the classification. They are:
- Show Report: Presents a report after the classification has been finished
detailing the classification results.
- Save Signatures: Allows you to save the signatures that were used in the
classification. This is useful when examining and/or modifying the
signatures. It is also possible to use this function to allow unsupervised
signatures to be used in classifiers other than the minimum distance. By
saving signatures generated from an unsupervised session you can
subsequently use these signatures in a Maximum Likelihood Classifier.
- Export Classes As Bitmap: This will create a bitmap representing each
class.
The Bitmap As Mask option menu allows you to select a bitmap to be used as
a mask when classifying imagery. Only pixels found either inside or outside
this bitmap will be classified. This mask does not affect the way in
which signatures are calculated.
