Aerial & Satellite Mapping

Aerial & Stellite Mapping In the fiercely competitive mapping industry, map production organizations face pressure to reduce production and QA costs, avoid the expense of purchasing fully-processed products from data vendors, and meet their customers’ demands for highly accurate image geometry, positional accuracy, and mosaic quality.

Images acquired through satellite or airborne sensors contain camera- and terrain-related distortions that make the images unsuitable for direct geospatial analysis. Orthorectification converts imagery into map-accurate form by removing camera and terrain related distortions through the use of sensor and terrain (elevation) information. The resulting orthoimages can be directly applied in remote sensing, Geographic Information System (GIS) and mapping applications.

PCI Geomatics provides a complete suite of tools supporting orthoimage generation from a wide variety of satellite and airborne sensors, including radar, hyperspectral, and high-resolution optical sensors. With emphasis on automation, PCI Geomatics allows mapping companies to dramatically reduce production and QA costs in every step of the process – data ingest, orthocorrection, mosaicking, digital elevation model (DEM) extraction, feature extraction, spatial analysis and map production. From there, PCI’s automated map production tools – delivering everything from topography to thematic maps – can generate information products for informed decision-making.

Whether for a desktop-driven production system or a highly-automated set of workflows geared to national-scale image projects, PCI Geomatics can build you a robust, scalable and cost-effective mapping production solution. Standards-based, web-enabled, and database-driven, automated aerial and satellite mapping is truly PCI Geomatics’ core competency.

Enterprise Data Management

Enterprise Data Management The increasing use of geospatial data in today’s planning and decision-making workflows has brought about an influx of imagery to various industries. This influx has created the need for a better image management solution – one that provides better storage methods for sharing and retrieving large amounts of data, rapid image processing capabilities, efficient support for terabytes of data accessible by users worldwide, and the right environments to view, manipulate, process, and analyze geospatial data.

PCI’s Geomatica Image Management System (GIMS) enables organizations large and small to effectively manage and access geospatial data. Developed in partnership with Oracle, applications such as the Geomatica Image Management System (GIMS) offer a robust, enterprise-wide solution designed to handle the storage, processing, and access of all geospatial data types, including aerial photos, satellite

Thanks to its open architectural concept, GIMS allows specific components to be added as required. The core system includes utilities for loading data into the Oracle 10g database, along with options to add a thick or thin client web interface, and easy support for any third-party software that can access Oracle. This modular framework allows you to implement GIMS efficiently, with minimal disruption to your existing internal systems.
