The need for accurate and up-to-date data for Humanitarian efforts by the United Nations is paramount. Recently, UN staff attended a PCI Geomatics software training course to learn how to produce Digital Elevation Models (DEM) using ASTER data. Many of the developing countries that are in desperate need of UN help, do not have the required information needed to make sound decisions. Having options available such as using ASTER data and PCI software provides the UN with new and cost effective productivity options for creating accurate image maps and associated DEMs. For more details on this announcement, click here.
