No News is Good News?? We think so!!!
PCI Geomatics STILL offers the most complete and diversified data format support in the industry!
Since the very start, it has been a part of the PCI Geomatics mandate to make sure that the Generic Database (GDB), the core resource behind the world famous GeoGateway, be the best and most complete data format point of access in the industry. The goal has always been to provide direct read/write data access to the most popular GIS/CAD/Mapping and image formats in the world.  PCI Geomatics R&D has been there every time the limits of the geospatial industry were stretched, but this one goal has stood the test of time.

Now, as PCI Geomatics prepares to celebrate their 20th anniversary of providing the world with ideal geospatial software solutions, the GDB still stands as the most complete source for supporting your data format needs - over 80 formats are supported! Data translation or reformatting? Not necessary, it does it - and no need to import source files! Data can be automatically included in any project. This means direct read, viewing, and processing of distribution formats and read/edit/write of exchange formats. Save your time and save your disk space!

Over 80 formats are supported, including commercial systems such as MrSID, NITF, SICAD, ARC/INFO and ArcView, AutoCAD, MicroStation, numerous standards such as GeoTIFF, and dozens of others. Another feature of the GDB technology is the read and write support for the Oracle relational database, which makes the Geomatica GeoGateway technology second to none in its ability to be a database loading and access tool, including georeferenced imagery. GDB technology allows PCI Geomatics software such as Geomatica GeoGateway to provide superior crossover potential for bridging the gap between raster and vector data, allowing data integration and simultaneous processing.

PCI GeoComp: The Next Generation?

PCI GeoComp, PCI Geomatics? automated production system for geocoding and compositing AVHRR imagery, is scheduled to arrive in December 2001 and you can bet that it will carry on the torch from the Version 8.2 release of Geomatica in November 2001.

PCI GeoComp generates fast precision geocoded scenes and (nominally) cloud-free composites of both single scenes and full passes of current and archived data in a variety of formats. PCI GeoComp radiometrically calibrates the imagery to correct for time-varying sensor effects and maintains full 10-bit radiometric resolution through each processing step.

Whether for compositing or geocoding PCI GeoComp is intended to catch the attention and address the requirements of a range of users: Ground station operators, forest fire control teams, crop forecasting agencies, insurance companies, forestry industries, government environmental agencies, and many more!

PCI Geomatics is always seeking input and professional opinions, and this time we want to know what you think would make PCI GeoComp even better. Now is your chance to share your application experiences with our designers. Visit the PCI GeoComp information pages on the PCI Geomatics web site and tell us about how you think you?ll be working with AVHRR data in the future. Let us know what demands you?ll expect answered by the next generation of automated production systems for geocoding and compositing. E-mail your thoughts and experiences to info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and share your views with our developers and the rest of the geomatics world!
