ASPRS 2000!
PCI Geomatics announced the launch of
our new Geomatica software during the ASPRS 2000 symposium held in Washington D.C.
The week of the conference started with PCI Geomatics' User Group Meeting. The
meeting was a great success with attendees anxious to learn more about Geomatica's key
features. Throughout the week, PCI Geomatics representatives treated visitors to live
in-booth seminars and demos. We unveiled our new booth, booth uniforms, literature,
promotional items etc, with Geomatica as the main theme. All in-booth activities were very
well attended and PCI Geomatics was the hit of the show!

PCI Geomatics has provided image analysis software and software expertise to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to assist the Walkerton Information Response Team with the Walkerton Environmental Study. This team of resource specialists from across the provincial government has been assembled to study what has been called the worst E. coli outbreak in Canadian history in the area around Walkerton in southwestern Ontario, Canada. The PCI Geomatics contribution fills "an immediate requirement for the quick processing, orthorectifying, and analysis of a large volume of image data.".
"Our software will be used to quickly process and study months of detailed satellite, airphoto, and ground data collected for the Walkerton region in order to assist in the assessment of the current situation and perhaps determine how this problem evolved."

This agreement allows users of PCI Geomatics software to read and display MrSID files directly through PCI Geomatics’ GeoGateway®. Through the GeoGateway, support for MrSID has been introduced to the full suite of the PCI Geomatics product line, including EASI/PACE® , OrthoEngine®, SPANS®, ACE®, FLY!®, APEX™, and PCI Geomatics' newest and most complete software solution, Geomatica™ .

PCI Geomatics announces the signing of an agreement with the University of Arkansas Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST) for joint cooperation in the areas of remote sensing and geomatics.
Since 1982, PCI Geomatics has continuously been a tireless supporter for the advanced study of remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, GIS, cartography, and all earth sciences in academic institutions around the world.
