               Redesigned User Interface Expedites the Production of High
Quality Maps


Richmond Hill, Ontario - PCI Geomatics today announced the version 3.0
release of its Advanced Cartographic Environment (ACE) desktop mapping
software. New features include a redesigned user interface with a graphical
map manager, context sensitive menus, and additional toolbars, as well as
advanced cartographic functionality for the displaying and editing of text,
surrounds, layers and symbols.

"We have added the flexibility and power demanded by the marketplace to
position ACE as the industry standard in desktop mapping," comments Dr.

easily guides users through map generation and the cartographic editing

ACE is a natural extension to all GIS, remote sensing and CAD systems since
it provides a way for users to present the results of their analysis
professionally. ACE is used by; mapping centers, governments, military and
intelligence agencies, educational institutes, as well as consulting,
exploration and resource management firms.

ACE offers cartographers a complete solution for easily applying
conventional symbolization to their generated maps while maintaining spatial
accuracy. With ACE, every feature on the map is represented graphically by
means of a representation code which sets the superposition priority of the
feature. In addition, ACE automatically generates neatline, border, title,
graphic scale, legend, geographic grid, north arrow, and text index.

ACE supports all major map projections and utilizes PCI Geomatics'
GeoGateway technology to directly read and write raster, vector and other
information from a list of over 50 supported file formats.   This offers the
advantage of quick and direct access to data without conversion while
allowing the cartographer the flexibility of combining multiple formats
within the same map.  For MicroStation users, ACE offers a specific data
translator.  This translates elements from a MicroStation DGN file and
places that information in ACE files.
