PCI Software Supports IRS-1C Data

Richmond Hill, Ontario - February 9, 1998: The PCI Geomatics Group announces
that it now supports data acquired from the Indian Remote Sensing (IRS)
satellite IRS-1C within the OrthoEngine (photogrammetry) Satellite Edition,
and EASI/PACE, remote sensing, software suites.  This will allow for the
generation of digital elevation models and digital orthophotos with
accuracies within the resolution of one pixel. The IRS-1C support is
available immediately operation on Windows and UNIX platforms.

The addition of IRS-1C maintains PCI's leadership in satellite
photogrammetry.  Other supported satellites include SPOT, Landsat, Radarsat,
ERS and JERS.

IRS-1C has a resolution of 5.8 meters for panchromatic data and 23.5 meter
for multispectral data.  With the success of this sensor, it is expected
that the Indian Space Agency will launch seven additional earth observation
satellites by year 2004.
