Mining Corporation Utilizes SPANS Solution in Diamond Exploration

Richmond Hill, Ontario - February 4, 1998: The PCI Geomatics Group is
pleased to announce the sale of SPANS 7, spatial analysis software suites to
North Star Diamonds of Oulu, Finland.  The software will be used to assist
in diamond exploration and will operate on Windows NT and OS/2 platforms.

The SPANS 7 spatial analysis suite is comprised of SPANS Explorer, which
provides the core functionality necessary to operate the system as well as
some of the most popular spatial analysis operations such as multi-criteria
overlay.  Additional modules include SPANS Topographer, SPANS Prospector and
SPANS Pioneer. They contribute key analysis and modeling operations, all of
which are accessed through the integrated SPANS menu including; full raster
and vector integration, on-screen digitizing with full topology, advanced
querying and modeling, 37 point to surface routines, topological and
multi-layer analysis, change detection and raster filters.

North Star Diamonds will combine stream and till sample information with
other related geological data sets utilizing SPANS' spatial modeling tools
to identify potential exploration areas.

projects using surveyed sample data in a digital form within a spatial
