                       SPANS(r) VERSION 7 RELEASED

December 3, 1997 - Richmond Hill, Ontario: The PCI Geomatics Group is
pleased to announce the release of SPANS 7, a complete spatial analysis
software system which provides powerful modeling and analysis capabilities,
data management and professional map output. The Version 7 release features
the new SPANS Author(tm) program, major enhancements to charting, command
files, 24-bit raster support and data import. SPANS 7 is available for use
on UNIX, Windows, and OS/2 platforms.

The addition of the SPANS Author module to the system provides users with
the ability to develop custom Graphical Users Interfaces (GUI). SPANS
Explorer(tm) provides the core functionality necessary to operate the
system as well as some of the most popular spatial analysis operations such
as multi-criteria overlay. Additional modules include SPANS
Topographer(tm), SPANS Prospector(tm) and SPANS Pioneer(tm). They
contribute key analysis and modeling operations, all of which are accessed
through the integrated SPANS menu.

Enhancements to the charting functionality include; multiple column
attribute charts, regression lines, multiple chart viewing, as well as the
ability to create multiple line charts for the display of many columns of
attributes simultaneously. In addition, SPANS now supports 24-bit raster
data to allow for the display of a multiple band raster using basic
enhancements, a density slice or RGB representation. GeoGateway(r) support
allows for the seamless importing of vector data with point, line and area
attributes for ArcExport, ArcView Shape, and MapInfo file formats.

"The significant enhancements included in this release of SPANS reflect the
Group's on-going commitment to ensure that it provides its users with the
most advanced spatial analysis software system in the marketplace as well
as within the Sky to Map(tm) software suite," comments Mike Pastushak, vice
president of Marketing for the Group.
