GLOBESAR2 AID PROGRAM SELECTS PCI SOFTWARE


April 30, 1997 - Richmond Hill, Ontario:  PCI announces that it has
provided 60 licenses of its RadarSoft®, premier radar image processing
software to GlobeSAR2, a training and technology transfer initiative
directed at 12 Latin American nations.  The program is funded by the
Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Canada Centre for Remote
Sensing and the International Development Research Centre.   In addition to
providing software, members of PCI's Education and Support Department will
travel to each nation and provide hands-on training classes commencing in
May.

GlobeSAR2's purpose is to provide radar airborne expertise for applications
development utilizing  Radarsat, Canada's radar Remote Sensing satellite. 
PCI's RadarSoft was preferred by aid officials over other commercial
products as it is designed to specifically work with radar data. 
RadarSoft's advanced capabilities include; filtering, texture analysis,
orthorectification, DEM extraction, radar image simulation and polarimetric
radar image analysis.   

In addition, RadarSoft has received Level One and Level Two (Radarsat)
endorsement which acknowledges its ability to integrate Radarsat data with
other data sets for mosaicking, image to image registration, image to
vector registration, geocoding, RGB to IHS conversions, as well as
performing basic image ingest, analysis, enhancement and presentation.
