Meet PCI's Board of Directors
The PCI Geomatics Board of Directors is comprised of a very strong group of leaders with extensive experience in corporate governance, international business, geospatial technology, finance, legal, and operations.
David McFaddenChairman of the Board
Mr. McFadden brings extensive business experience to the PCI Geomatics Board of Directors, having served on a number of boards over the course of his career in business and the legal profession. Mr. McFadden is a Partner with Gowlings, one of Canada’s largest full service law firms. He has also been active in the energy and infrastructure industries and in higher education and innovation. Mr. McFadden currently serves as Chair of the Boards of Fengate Capital’s family of infrastructure funds. He is also Chair of the Board of Directors of 407 International Inc. and Collus PowerStream Corp. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Energy Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Energy Council of Canada, the Canadian affiliate of the World Energy Council. Mr. McFadden is a member of the Board of Governors of York University and formerly served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Centres of Excellence.
Mr. McFadden currently serves as the Chairman of PCI’s Board of Directors and is a member of the Governance and Compensation Committee. He has been a Board member since 1998.
Mr. John F. Bankes brings extensive experience from the investment sector. He currently serves as Managing Director of Artemis Management Group Inc., a private investment bank. Mr. Bankes brings a wealth of international experience, given his work with corporate clients in North America, the UK and the Far East. Mr. Banks is a strong proponent of volunteerism, as a current and long serving volunteer for York University, Chair of PREVNET, a research organization dedicated to stopping bullying, and also serving on numerous boards of arts and community organizations as a volunteer.
Mr. Bankes currently serves as a Director of PCI Geomatics, and is the Chair of the Audit Committee. He has been a Board Member since 2007.
Mr. Fleming brings over 35 years of experience to PCI’s board of directors, having worked in the finance industry. He has held key positions including Executive Vice-President of Canadian operations for Scotiabank, President and CEO of the TSX, President and CEO of Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, and President and CEO of National Trust Company. Mr. Fleming is a former director of Export Development Canada, Chair of their Risk Management Committee. Mr. Fleming has previously held the position of Adjunct Professor at the Richard Ivey School of Business (2001 to 2005), and has served on the boards of a number of public and private corporations.
Mr. Fleming currently serves as a Director of PCI Geomatics, and is a member of the Audit Committee. He has been a Board Member since 2009.
Dr. Thomas MedcofDirector
Dr. Thomas Medcof has extensive experience in Business Administration, having earned his MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico and his PhD in Management from York University’s Schulich School of Business. He has taught at the Schulich School of Business and Ryerson’s Rogers School of Management, and is currently a professor at University of Guelph’s College of Business and Economics. Dr. Medcof has been the recipient of the Seymour Schulich Award for Teaching Excellence in 2011 and 2014.
Dr. Medcof currently serves as a Director of PCI Geomatics and is a member of the Governance and Compensation Committee. He has been a Board Member since 2014.
Mr. Meinzer has extensive experience in the high tech computing sector, having held several positions over the course of his career in this industry. After having started his career with tech giant IBM, he became President of Real Time Datapro, a public data processing company operating in Canada, the U.S. and the UK. Through PMP Associates Inc., Mr. Meinzer provides financial and operating advice to high tech companies.
Mr. Meinzer currently serves as a Director of PCI Geomatics, and is a member of the Audit Committee and is the Chair of the Governance & Compensation Committee. He has been a Board Member since 2001.
Mr. Stanley has been with PCI Geomatics since its founding in 1981. During that time he has been involved in every aspect of development from system level driver implementation, hardware and systems configuration, language design, algorithmic research and development, interface design, project management and proposal writing. Mr. Stanley is a key contributor to the development of technology at PCI Geomatics, having worked in application areas that have ranged from image processing, mapping, satellite geometric correction and image processing for aerial photography, SAR and optical satellites.
Mr. Stanley currently serves as a Director of PCI Geomatics. He has been a Board Member since 1998.
Dr. Murray StromeDirector
Dr. Strome has been involved with PCI Geomatics since 1984 when he was President and CEO. He played a key role in the early development of PCI Geomatics and the remote sensing industry, having worked with some of the first scientific imagery collected through the Landsat program in the then newly formed Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS). Dr. Strome is recognized for his innovative work in the field of digital image processing and remote sensing, and has extensive experience as a remote sensing scientist and teacher.
Dr. Strome currently serves as a Director of PCI Geomatics, and is a member of the Governance and Compensation Committee. He has been a Board Member since 2003.
